Not sure what shipping costs? Estimate shipping

Field help Sale price: the item price the buyer pays, before shipping and tax. Buyer shipping: Poshmark ignores this: the buyer pays Poshmark for the label. Sales tax: collected and remitted by the marketplace, but some platforms charge fees on it. Applied to item + shipping. Your shipping label cost (under More options): leave it blank to assume it equals the shipping you charged. Items sold per month (under More options): how many sales like this you make in a month, from 1 to 10,000. Above 1, you also get monthly and yearly totals. You paid for it: what the item cost you, so "you keep" is your real profit.

See the details

Every platform charges fees on different things. Here is exactly how we work it out.

How we calculate

Enter one sale and see what you would keep on eBay, Poshmark, Mercari, Whatnot, Depop and Etsy, side by side. Each platform charges fees on different things (shipping, sales tax, flat fees, processing), and this tool applies each one's own rules.

We take your sale price, the shipping you charge and the buyer's sales tax, apply each platform's published US fee rules (linked under Sources), then subtract your shipping label and what you paid for the item. Each fee is rounded to the cent. It is an estimate: your platform statement is the final word.

Sell the same kind of item often? Set Items sold per month under More options to see monthly and yearly totals. We work out one sale to the cent and multiply it, so the totals assume every sale pays the same fees (plus eBay's insertion fee past 250 free listings a month).

What we assume

US seller, US buyer, US dollars, one item per order, standard account in good standing, no promotions, ads, refunds, currency conversion or instant-payout fees. Sales tax is collected and remitted by the marketplace, so it is never part of your payout, but eBay, Whatnot (processing), Depop and Etsy (processing) still charge a percentage on it. "Payout" is what the platform sends you; "profit" also subtracts your label and item cost. Each fee line is rounded to the cent.
